'We love the view!' - is what everyone says about this comfortable 1st floor - 2 bedroom apartment on the Garth above Porthmadog town. You will enjoy unrivalled views of Moelwyn, Cnicht, and Snowdon mountains, the harbour and Glaslyn river valley plus watch the World Famous Ffestiniog trains puff their way over the causeway up to Snowdonia.

Not as perfect as it first appeared.

First impressions:Entrance is at the rear of the property, where the dustbins are and that area could do with a good clean up. Not welcoming. However the apartment, once in, was very clean throughout (a definite plus) though dated but cared for furniture. It was evident the owners look after their property. Excellent view from the floor to ceiling windows. This window showed the position of the apartment in relation to the amenities of Porthmadog. These windows opened easily. (See below). Kitchen was well equipped. Please note the oven door will not stay open when in use if we needed to check food, the door kept closing onto where we were checking the food, risking burns. TV with adequate channels. Comfortable double bed, 2nd bedroom not used but a very light and airy room. 2nd bathroom not used, but clean. No private parking available, only on street. Trying to link up to the WIFI was so difficult, we finally gave up. Even though there were instructions in the blue information file, they did not seem to make any sense, re WIFI passwords etc those instructions referred to "Harbour" "or Harbour View Apartment not the name as used in our booking: "Mountain Views" Apartment. The WIFI password on the blackboard did not tally with the one on the router - but neither worked for us.
Before arriving at any address we like to be prepared and we checked google maps for potential parking, after reading the emailed information re parking. A small thing but the information stated, following approach instructions, there would be parking on the left hand side (across from the apartment). This is inaccurate: there are double yellow lines across from the apartment. Any parking there may be is on the same side as the apartment on the street and "first come first served" Although, through the entrance archway there is a car park for residents, there is no room available and a very difficult area to negotiate. The approach road to the apartment in on a steady incline, so this has to be TIC for anyone with mobility issues or older visitors. There are the 90+ old steps between the houses opposite which lead directly down onto to the harbourside but ONLY for the super fit. They are, as to be expected, very old steps and a lot of the length has no handrail. So walking up and down the hill is the only other option. If you wish to walk to Borth y Gest (beautiful little bay with stunning views from the benches overlooking the estuary in front of the church) from the apartment, be aware again that the road is all hill, ok going down but not good again for the older or challenged visitor. The overall initial impression was very good for the actual apartment.
During our stay we found a number of inconveniences about the apartment. The settees were very low and uncomfortable, spoiling evening relaxing. The lighting in the double bedroom was very poor. Too dark to be able to use the mirror for hair/makeup etc. and unfortunately the ensuite bathroom was little better. Windows in bedroom/bathroom very difficultl to open and close due to their position. The kitchen window impossible to open without having to find something to climb on (which we did not do). After opening the bathroom window to prevent condensation whilst bathing/showering (as per the request on the bathroom notice) we found it would not shut again. Time for replacement or good maintenance. In relation to notices covering what we could/could not do, there was at least one in every room, plus a comprehensive list in the blue file of the same and not only that a message from the owner was added to STS's admin email AND a message was sent to my mobile from the owner, with the same information yet again. Really???? Whilst it could be said we should have contacted STS re any issues, we do not like that inconvenience and managed. Although this was the cleanest apartment we have ever used via STS,and the view was fantastic, all the other inconveniences would prevent us using this apartment again, not least the distance and difficulty getting to and from the amenities of Porth, which were not referenced at all. Thank you.

Bit hard to find and parking a bit challenging.
Once in apartment, wonderful views, clean , tidy well equipped, comfy beds .
Value for money .

A very good sized 2 bed appartment with a good sized bathroom with a shower over hhe bath in the main bedroom.
We had visited a couplle of times previously because









The apartment is spacious, very comfotable with splendid views over the harbour & moutains beyond It was our third visit, unfortunately we we may not be able to stay again due to age & it is up a slight hill ! flight of stairs. bit we still hope to get ! more visit.

Mountain views holiday appartment was a wonderful place to stay, it is very well equipped and comfortable.
The views from the window is truely spectacular.

Great location for high street and walk to Borth-y-Gest. Apartment lovely and spacious, warm, kitchen was nice size plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses etc, dishwasher and washer all were fine and decent counter top freezer. Bit of downside in en suite bedroom, the boiler was noisy. Parking is limited but never found it to be a problem whilst we were there and parking on incline on road further up. Views are great looking right over to mountains, the cob, estuary. Had
a really nice stay, bonus of being lovely and clean.

We were very grateful to be able to secure this apartment at short notice in Easter for a much needed break. It exceeded our expectations on every level. It is very roomy with two bathrooms (en suite is huge) and was spotlessly clean. Kitchen well equipped and a pleasure to cook in. The location is superb, being close to town and the harbour (albeit up and down 84 steps to town!) And en route to the beaches at Borth y Gest - ideal for us as with our dog. And the view is spectacular. I loved being able to sit in the floor to ceiling window with the sun streaming in in the morning. The apartment was very reasonably priced for Easter. Thank you for making that break possible for us.

We loved this apartment with it's wonderful view from the lounge. The property was clean, warm and comfortable and very well equipped. We look forward to visiting again.

Probably the best location in Porthmadog. The flat is decently equipped. The soft seating in the main room is really comfortable, and gives you the best view you could ask for.
